“The Hagia Sophia-Kabîr-i-Shérif Symposium” which is organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs due to the Hagia Sophia-Kabîr-i-Shérif Mosque being opened to worship again after a period of 86 years will start in Istanbul on October 2nd with the opening conference which will be attended by the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş.
Sessions of the symposium of which opening conference will be executed in the yard of the Hagia Sophia Mosque will be broadcasted online.
During the symposium where it is aimed to enlighten the history of the Hagia Sophia and the changes it has experienced so far, and contribute to the introduction of the cultural legacy that it keeps within in respect to the history of religions and Turkish-Islamic arts, the irreplaceable value of this sacred temple within our civilization will be examined in the axis of the history of religions and worships.
