1. The quota of 70.000 pilgrimage candidates in 2004 was enhanced to

100.000.

2. Our 53.696 citizens have enjoyed a successful pilgrimage season

through the pilgrimage organization organized by the Presidency.

3. During the previous years, Turkish Airlines has been given permission

to land at the Jeddah Airport and depart there from only, this year, for the

first time, it has also been given permission to land at Madina airport and

depart there from.

4. New guidance books which explain pilgrimage and its form and which

also consider it a kind of spiritual training and moral education have been

produced. In this context, the following books have been produced and will be

distributed free of charge: “To Understand Pilgrimage” (for citizens); Prayers

in the Sacred Climate (for citizens); “Pilgrimage Catechism” (for religious

officers).
