Ajal literally means; absolute time, duration and end of something. In later times this vocabulary has been the usage for the termination of human life-span and has become popular for that meaning. Ajal, is the end of the lifespan and the occurrence of death. There is an ajal for every creature. This ajal originates from God's qadâ and measurement which never changes. The prescribed ajal arrives neither before nor later. Qur’an says in this respect that: ''... Every nation has a term {ajal}; when their term comes, they shall not then remain behind for an hour, or they go before'' {Yunus, 10/49}, ''And Allah never respite a soul when its appointed term comes, Allah is Aware of what you do'' {Munâfiqûn, 63/11}. |
