Press Release from the President of Religious Affairs Erbaş regarding the attacks to Al-Aqsa Mosque

The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Ali Erbaş condemned the attack to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, its imams and worshipping innocent civilians by occupying forces and further said, “I ask the world opinion to fulfil the requirements of ethics and law against breaking into the land of prophets, common heritage of humanity and temples.”

Yesterday, the holiness of Al-Aqsa Mosque was broken into and the imams and worshipping innocent civilians were attacked by occupying forces. Ravenous tyrants thought little of humanity, conscience, ethics and international law and violate once again the exemption of temples. I condemn fiercely the tyrants getting so wicked that they attacked people and religious officials worshipping in the mosque.

Of course, all tyrants became the victims of the fire they started themselves and the history witnessed the perishing of many tyrants. What matters is what attitudes are stricken by whom against tyranny and injustice. No members of any religions and faiths, none of those who are conscientious and none of those who are respectful to human rights and honour are supposed to remain silent against breaking into the land of prophets, common heritage of humanity and temples. Therefore, I ask the world opinion, especially Jewish and Christian people, to fulfil the requirements of ethics and law and be in necessary reaction. Otherwise, those remaining silent against the tyranny shall also be doomed to the human conscience forever.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs and our dear nation shall always be there for suffering Palestinian people and carry on to make any contributions to those who are also there.

I wish a quick recovery for our brothers and sisters wounded during the wicked attacks and all Palestinian people, especially the imams of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş

President of Religious Affairs
