President of Diyanet Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received Palestinian Muslim scholars and declared “Palestine is where our hearts beat. I feel deep pleasure for histing our Palestinian brothers at Diyanet.”
President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received the President of Palestinian Muslim Scholars Living Abroad Dr. Nevaf Tekruri and accompanying delegation.
The Palestinian scholars who paid the visit to congratulate Erbaş for assuming his new post as the head of Diyanet and stressed the importance the Diyanet of Turkey has for the Palestinian scholars.
Erbaş who voiced deep pleasure over the visit said the Palestinian people have a very special place in the hearts of the Turks and added “for us Palestine is where our hearts beat. I feel great pleasure of hosting you here at Diyanet.”
President of Diyanet Erbaş stressed that both Palestine and Jerusalem have a very special place for Islamic history as well as world history and said Jerusalem or al Quds is the city of the prophets and a great city of peace.
Erbaş said Diyanet will further enhance relations with Palestine during his mission and added “we have historical bonds with Palestine. Our relations with Palestine will be further enhanced during my mission. We will continue our cooperation regarding religious education and religious services. We are more than ready for all kinds of cooperation as we have shown in the past.”
Palestinian Union of Scholars President Takruri on his part thanked President of Diyanet Erbaş for receiving his delegation so warmly and added that his association is a part of Turkey’s Diyanet.
Stressing the importance of the people of Turkey for the Palestinians Takruri said “We are happy as the Palestinians of being here. We brought you the greetings of the people of Palestine. We are a part of the Diyanet of Turkey. The Turkish people have a very special place in the hearts of the Palestinians throughout history. We thank Diyanet for its efforts regarding Palestine. We have no doubt at all that our relations will continue to grow in the future.”
Takruri said the people of Palestine want to see Erbaş in Palestine as soon as possible.
