We have reached the spiritual climate of the blessed months which constitute the season of mercy, baraqah, and forgiveness. We are going to contemplate Lailat-al-Ragaib on the night 27 February 2020 connecting Thursday to Friday.
The Almighty Allah (s.w.t.) drew attention to the importance of time by swearing on time several times in the Holy Qur’an. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) also emphasized the same fact by including it in the great blessings whose value is not understood much. For this reason, it is of vital importance that we make good use of every moment of our time that is one of the unique blessings bestowed to us by Allah (s.w.t.).
Additionally, some days and nights are the times when religious feelings are experienced more intensely in terms of the meaning of these times. Here, the blessed months with which we have just joined and Lailat-al-Ragaib are great opportunities in order to contemplate our aim of being created and responsibility of servitude, to review our attitudes and human relations, to question the time we passed in the world, and to be purified by turning to the endless mercy of Allah. Because Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) pointed out the importance of these nights by making dua as follows when he joined with the month of Rajab, “O My Allah! May You bless us in the months of Rajab and Shaban and let us reach the month of Ramadan.”
Therefore, we need to praise to Allah (s.w.t.) more, cite His name more, and be even more grateful by taking advantage of such times. We need to try to have the consent of the Almighty Allah (s.w.t.) by means of worships, duas and supplications. We need to demand all the things we want from Him, welcome His mercy to our hearts, and sincerely repent of our mistakes and sins, which we committed deliberately or unwittingly, with the desire of forgiveness and mercy.
On the other hand, the sacred days and nights are accompanied by an excitement which will contribute to our resurrection as society and ummah. Therefore, what we need to value these blessed times is to exert efforts to build a better World by allocating all our opportunities to work for making our nafs be on the right way, the happiness of our family, the honor of our nation, and unity of Muslims. We need to base our servitude to Allah and relations with His servants on ikhlas and sincerity.
I would like to express an important point; our worships and duas should strengthen our consciousness of servitude and responsibility, stiffen our emotions of cooperation, solidarity, and brotherhood, and beautify our morals. In this way, staying away from all the evil which hurts our compassion and turning towards the benevolences which will relieve our hearts should be our fundamental aims. When we can achieve these our hearts will be filled with the satisfaction and peace of being servant of Allah and desire of committing good deeds which will make us proud on the Judgment Day will surround our body and soul entirely.
With these feelings and thoughts I would like to congratulate Lailat-al-Ragaib of our dear nation and entire Islam world and wish that Allah (s.w.t.) lets this sacred night and blessed months conduce to Muslims’ unity and peace and humanity’s being on the right path and having peace and tranquility.
