Upon the statement of Saudi Arabia that they will not accept pilgrims from another countries this year, giving a statement, the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş stated that they will safeguard the rights of drawing lots of the citizens who were awarded to go hajj as the result of the drawing lots in 2020

Saudi Arabia announced that due to Covid-19, this year, they will limit the hajj worship to only those who are living in the country and will not accept pilgrims from abroad.

In the written statement by Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, it has been stated that they will not accept pilgrims from abroad this year in order to protect the health of Muslims and used expressions as follows:

" Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will limit the hajj worship to only those who are living in the country due to Covid-19 outbreak continuing to spread, crowded places and international transportation being much more riskier, and the number of global cases being increased severely.”

Having a statement regarding the subject through his social media accounts, the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş stated that they will follow up the subject closely and recorded that they will safeguard the rights of drawing lots of the citizens who were awarded to go hajj as the result of the drawing lots in 2020.

Expressing that the Presidency of Religious Affairs will have a detailed statement tomorrow, the President of Religious Affairs Erbaş posted as follows:

“Saudi Arabia announced that due to Covid-19, this year, they will limit the hajj worship to a limited number of Muslims who are living in the country and with different nationalities and will not accept pilgrims from abroad. 

The Presidency of Religious Affairs will follow up the subject closely. We will safeguard the rights of drawing lots of the citizens who were awarded to go hajj as the result of the drawing lots in 2020. The detailed statement regarding the subject will be submit to public tomorrow by our Presidency.”
