The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş announced with the messages posted via his social media accounts to the public that the Mawlid al-Nabi Week theme of the year 2020 has been decided as ‘’Prophet Muhammad and Child’’.

The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş announced with the messages posted via his social media accounts to the public that the Mawlid al-Nabi Week theme of the year 2020 has been decided as ‘’Prophet Muhammad and Child’’.

The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş announced with the messages posted via his social media accounts that the Presidency determined the Mawlid al-Nabi Week theme of the year 2020 as ‘’Prophet Muhammad and Child’’ and that the International Symposium on Mawlid al-Nabi is going to be organized between the dates of November 6-8 within the framework of this theme.

The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş included the following statements in the message on the Mawlid al-Nabi Week posted by him via his social media accounts,

 “We are going to contemplate the Mawlid al-Nabi Week with the theme of ‘’Prophet Muhammad and Child’’ in the year 2020 so that we can see our children, who are the apples of our eyes and our future, from the eye of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) and can come up with solutions for their current and future problems from the perspective of the Holy Qur’an and the sunnah.

Within this scope, we are going to have held the International Symposium on Mawlid al-Nabi, which is going to be organized between the dates of November 6-8 with different topics and participation of various guests, under the theme of ‘Prophet Muhammad and Child’.”

International Symposium on Mawlid al-Nabi: Prophet Muhammad and Child

The international symposium on Mawlid al-Nabi, which was announced by the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş to public via his social media accounts, aims to address the subject of child from the perspective of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah, to come up with solutions for children’s and parents’ problems by means of basic religious references, especially by means of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), to evaluate the services for children of the Presidency of  Religious Affairs, and to contribute to the development of these services.

Those who want to participate in the International Symposium on Mawlid al-Nabi which is going to be organized by the General Directorate of Religious Services between the dates of November 6-8 may present their papers in Turkish, Arabic, and English. The participants may deliver their paper abstracts until the date of September 4, 2020.

Accepted paper abstracts are going to be announced on September 18, 2020. The deadline for delivery of paper texts is determined as October 23, 2020.

Eligibility Requirements

The papers to be accepted for the Symposium shall be scientific and genuine and the paper abstracts shall outline the subject and contain between 300 and 400 words.

Abstracts shall be sent to mevlidinebihaftasi@diyanet.gov.tr address by e-mail, to 0312 284 55 25 numbered line by fax, or to the Presidency of Religious Affairs by post through the attendance form.

Papers should contain between 5000 and 7000 words. In addition to these, each session for the presentation of papers shall be limited to 20 minutes.

Topics

The topics of “Child from the Perspective of the Holy Qur’an”, “Prophet Muhammad and Child”, “Today’s Children”, and “Services for Children from the Presidency of Religious Affairs” are going to be addressed at the International Symposium on Mawlid al-Nabi.

Mawlid al-Nabi Week

The Mawlid al-Nabi Week which is organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs with the occasion of the birth of Prophet Muhammad and also covers the Mawlid al-Nabi is contemplated within the framework of a different theme every year.

With the activities carried out, symposiums organized, and other programs held within the scope of the determined theme during the Mawlid al-Nabi Week, the exemplary life story of Prophet Muhammad is told and several programs for commemorating and understanding Prophet Muhammad are performed.
