Expressing that it is significant to declare of 8-14 March as Jerusalem Week under the guidance of the Association of Palestinian Scholars Abroad, the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş talked as “Jerusalem is a city of prophets that we believe without separating one from another; Jerusalem is a mubarak and abundant city where Masjid Al-Aqsa, which is our first kiblah, is situated. As for Masjid Al-Aqsa, it is the one of the three masjids that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) encouraged to visit and suggested to do charity and good.”

Pointing out that Masjid Al-Aqsa has been under the captivity that deeply hurts Muslims, the President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş talked as “Jerusalem, which had been administered in peace and tranquillity under the rule of Muslims throughout centuries, has unfortunately been transformed into a place dominated by occupation, oppression, pain and tears with an understanding that disregards human values and international law.”

The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş noted that it is a significant duty for Muslims to protect the Masjid Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem, to draw attention to the importance of these values in the Islamic faith and to keep alive the sense of solidarity with the people of Palestine.
