When we accomplish this, the Miraj shall find its actual meaning with its aspect that faces us.”
Tonight, we shall attain the Lailat al-Miraj when our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) ascended from Masjid Al-Haram to Masjid Al-Aqsa and from there to the heavens.
The event of Miraj when the Almighty Allah (swt) raised Prophet Muhammad (saw) who was His servant and messenger before Him to show some verses to him is a miraculous reflection of His infinite might and mercy to the believers. As a matter of fact that in the early times of Islam, after the difficult and sorrowful days that they experienced in the face of cruel oppression of the polytheists, the consolation and peace that the Messenger of Allah (saw) and the believer hearts longed for came with Miraj. This great miracle that occurred before our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) is full of wisdoms that show us the possibility and the ways of the spiritual ascending with wisdoms that it hosts.
Miraj is a call for tawhid. It calls all the people for a magnificent witnessing to the horizons of truth in the axis of the fact that the Almighty Allah (swt) is one and only and He is mighty. Tawhid harbingers that those who continue their lives in line with worship and direction shall never be embarrassed and grieved.
Miraj is an invitation to loyalty. It invites the believers to be subjected to our beloved prophet Muhammad (saw) unconditionally. It states that those who show perseverance with patience, resoluteness and morals despite any kind of obstacles, oppression and threats that are experienced for the sake of this shall reach to the favor and mercy of the Almighty Allah (swt) definitely.
Miraj is a good news of ascending. It gives the good news of an extraordinary journey to divine levels to those who hold the prayer which is the most valuable gift of Miraj by being purified from worldly worries. It tells that the prayer which is the miraj of the believer shall arise the person to the essence of the existence, meaning of the existence and the infinite blessings and mercy of the Almighty Allah (swt).
Miraj is a warning of responsibility. It reminds Jerusalem which is the trust of the prophets and the eternal legacy of Islamic civilization to the believers. It charges a great responsibility to the believers regarding the salvation of Masjid Al-Aqsa which is the sacred place of Miraj and the first qibla of the Muslims by glorifying its value.
In this respect, today, what falls upon us is to adorn our mind, heart and all life with the wisdoms and beauties of Islam by comprehending the meaning that Miraj hosts in the correct way. It is to tasbih our Lord and to strengthen our faith by reviving the meaning of tonight. It is to confirm our loyalty to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) by considering tonight as an occasion. It is to certify the affection between the prayer and ourselves by seeing tonight as an opportunity. For the grace of this night, it is to concentrate our efforts on working for the salvation of the Masjid Al-Aqsa. When we accomplish this, the Miraj shall find its actual meaning with its aspect that faces us.
For this objective, we first should search all the dignity and salvation beside our Lord by purifying our nafs from any kinds of evil and deem His consent as the final objective of our every actions. We should know the primordial Word of Allah (swt) and the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) as the only guide of our life. We should find the miraj of our soul and heart in the five-time prayers. We should be a hope to the rising again of the Islamic ummah with affection, mercy and unity by challenging with commitment, will and zealous at the sake of this.
With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate the Lailat al-Miraj of our saint nation and the entire Islamic World and I request my Almighty Allah (swt) that this blessed night be instrumental in the salvation from the all sorrows that the Islamic World is in and the unity and solidarity of the Muslims. And I hope that the Jerusalem Week that shall start following the Lailat al-Miraj shall be utilized by all of the Muslims with events that shall establish awareness.
