The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş became the guest of program “Qur’an Recitation Contest Iftar Special” that was broadcasted on TRT1.

Making hamd for meeting the month of Ramadan again, the President of Religious Affairs Erbaş, said “Let it be blessed and bring blessings for our nation and the Islamic World. Let our fasting be accepted, and may our Lord accept all worships of ours.”

Stating that they have designated the theme of this month of Ramadan as “Ramadan; The Month of Healing”, the President Erbaş talked as, “We always need healing. We have been fighting against this epidemic almost a year. We have used this title of “Ramadan; The Month of Healing” to draw the attention to this epidemic we have been experiencing in this month of Ramadan as well and to take the necessary precautions and to remind again our people the trio of precaution, trust and dua.  On this occasion, we remind the hadith of “Fast and find health”. Because fasting is actually a health. Fasting is a type of worship that contributes to and is beneficial for every Muslim with respect to health as well. In the context of this hadith of the Messenger of Allah (saw), we shall continue to warn people, the Muslims, by increasing the precautions against the epidemic to the utmost in this month of Ramadan and by performing the necessary duties of ours so that we can be saved from this epidemic as soon as possible. With the thought of it being beneficial in this respect, we have chosen such a theme.”

Stating the fact that Qur’an was brought to make people meet the illumination by being saved from the dark, the President Erbaş used expressions, “It is actually a healing spiritually and bodily for the human to obey the provisions and orders of Qur’an, to execute its commands and to avoid what it forbids.”

“We shall try to tell people the healing aspect of Qur’an”

Referring to the fact that there is a danger on what Qur’an considers as haram and we need to stay away from these harams, the President Erbaş continued his words as follows;

“Essentially, everything that is harmful for health is haram. We know that things that are forbidden by Qur’an are harmful for the whole humanity and the society. Especially these five things must be protected; One of these is the protection of faiths, religions, the second one is the protection of mind, the third is the protection of property, the fourth is the protection of life and the fifth is the protection of generation. It means that everything that harms these five things in the society and among the people who form this society is haram, and it is fardh to protect these five things. We shall try to tell people the healing aspect of Qur’an by sharing these truths with our brothers, nation, and whole of the Islamic World all through the Ramadan, Insha Allah.”

“To be treated against diseases is the most important duty of all of the humanity”

Stating that they embraced the hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) as “If there is a contagious disease where you are, do not leave there. If you are not in a place where there is a contagious disease, do not enter there until the disease has gone”, the President Erbaş evaluated as “Of course, to be treated against diseases is the most important duty of all of Muslims and the humanity. We embrace the belief that the disease is from Allah (swt), and the cure is also from Allah (swt). We, all the humanity, must establish these by obeying the advises of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) that direct the people to treatment against diseases and precaution against these diseases, which we call these advises as Prophetic Medicine.”

“Fasting; the nutrition of our soul”

Emphasizing that fasting was a shield that protected the person against the evil, the President Erbaş continued his words as follows:

“Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) says ‘Fasting is a shield’. A shield for what? It is a worship that protects the person against the evil and the danger.  Essentially, fasting is beneficial for the body of the person, his physical health, however, what is most important is that it is beneficial for the soul as well. Fasting that is the nutrition of our soul is one of the greatest and the most virtuous worships. We learn from the Messenger of Allah (saw), and our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) says ‘Our Lord says ‘The deed of all the worships is written by angels, but the deed of fasting I give’’. Fasting has a great benefit to the human psychology and the human soul. A person who observes fasting does not do evil and lie with his fasting mouth. It is a very important worship that operates auto control mechanism psychologically.”
