“You gave your best effort to heal the wounded hearts”

President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş expressed his thanks to the officials of Presidency of Religious Affairs and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation who gave effort to heal the wounds of the earthquake as soon as possible from the first day after the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.

In his video message which he shared on his social media accounts and also sent to all officials of Presidency of Religious Affairs and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation, President of Religious Affairs Erbaş addressed as follows, “My heroic hodjas who rushed to the earthquake region from all provinces of our country from east to west, from north to south with the awareness of believer and consciousness of fraternity from the first moments of the two great earthquakes that we experienced 9 hours apart and which the history of humanity has never witnessed!”

Reminding the hadith of our Beloved Prophet (saw), “You see the believers as regards their being merciful among themselves and showing love among themselves and being kind, resembling one body, so that, if any part of the body is not well then the whole body shares the sleeplessness (insomnia) and fever with it,” President Erbaş talked as “You felt the pain of your brothers and sisters in your hearts as the heirs of our Beloved Prophet (saw). With this sensitivity and responsibility, some of you sweated in search and rescue activities, some of you tried to meet all their needs and guide our brothers and sisters who experienced the earthquake in your mosques and Quran courses. Some of you have served in cemeteries by having to bury your own friends time to time, in funeral burials with indescribable patience and devotion. Some of you have cooked and distributed hot meals in catering places as cooks, some of you have mobilized in the service of spiritual support to our brothers and sisters and their children who are victims of earthquakes. You gave your best effort to heal the wounded hearts with many more activities.”

Stating that the rush of the officials who could not go to the region to send more aid to the victims by working in their own places, their efforts to support the citizens who were victims of the earthquake were a clear indication of the noble feelings such as faith, sincere commitment, affection, patriotism in their hearts and that they were undoubtedly above all appreciation, President Erbaş concluded his words as follows:

“You rushed so sincerely and wholeheartedly that the Kiraman Katibin witnessed your solidarity and cooperation, your efforts, your work, the nights you spent trying to rest in the cars doubled up in order to remain standing and they recorded those deeds in your deed book. Each of our hodjas, men and women, who work in the squares of goodness with their blue vests with the words Presidency of Religious Affairs and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation written on their backs, has further grown the love and affection in the heart of our nation.  May the Almighty Allah (swt) bless each of you, my dear hodjas.

I thank to the Almighty Allah (swt) for working together with our hodjas who are the architecture of the hearts under the roof of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and wish mercy to our hodjas and all our brothers and sisters who passed away in the earthquake and healing to our wounded. I greet each of you wholeheartedly. May your efforts conduce to your salvation, May your Lailat al-Bara’ah be blessed.”
