Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, said: “Our brotherhood and fellowship with Azerbaijan are to continue forever.”
Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, was the guest of the “Mir Şahin Vakti” program that was broadcast on Real TV Azerbaijan. Talking about his three-day observations in Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, mentioned the oppression of Armenia in the period of the occupation of Karabakh.
President Erbaş started his words by wishing that the Karabakh victory is going to be an auspicious and blessed one for Azerbaijan, the Turkish nation, and all Muslims.
“We were always with our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters by making duas”
Saying, “We were always with our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters by making duas during the wartime,” President Erbaş continued as follows, “We visited Shusha city. We witnessed how our soldiers fought there, how they emancipated the lands of Karabakh from the occupation of the enemies, and how our martyrs struggled for this aim. We made dua for our soldiers and recited the Holy Qur’an for the souls of our martyrs. We visited our mosques and recited adhan, then established prayer.”
“They used the mosque as a barn”
Drawing attention to the fact that they visited Agdam town and saw that Armenians left no building untouched there, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, continued:
“They destroyed the place completely and plundered everywhere. They demolished the Juma Mosque. That is to say, they shot even the minbar of the mosque and used the mosque as a barn. Not only did they destroy the cities and towns but also they even tormented the corpses of martyrs in the cemeteries and their graves. Cutting off people’s limbs is an act of violence. We have seen with our own eyes how cruel and brutal they are.”
“The corpses are untouchable according to Islam”
The religion of Islam does not approve of giving harm to the places of worship and the innocent civilians. We also witnessed that when both sides exchanged the corpses, we saw that they damaged the bodies of our martyrs. They cut off their limbs. But we delivered them the corpses of their side without giving any harm to them. Islam says that a dead person is untouchable, so you may not give it any harm.”
“There can be no adhan without independence”
Stating his memory at the historical Yukari Govher Agha Mosque in Shusha city, which has become one of the symbols of the victory, while reciting the adhan, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, used the following expressions, “As I was reciting the adhan there, I had a feeling and I just wanted that those who have not heard it for 30 years should hear adhan then. Not only the people who listen to adhan while it is being recited but also wolves, birds, trees, and all the creatures listen to adhan that is being recited. Alhamdulillah, Allahu Ta’ala (swt) bestowed it to us to recite adhan at that mosque. There can be no adhan without independence. At least, the occupied lands were saved thanks to the efforts of our veterans and martyrs. From now on, what we are going to do is to reconstruct our cities, inshaAllah. I mean we need to furnish the cities with masjids and minarets. Mosques are the ornaments of cities. I do believe so that when we visit them again after years we are going to see that there are many minarets in Shusha, Fuzuli, and Agdam and that the voices of the adhan, which raise from these minarets, are heard even in the furthest parts. InshaAllah, we are going to witness this altogether.”
“We are always on the side of Azerbaijan”
Expressing that “We are always on the side of Azerbaijan, we are always its closest friend and fellow country,” Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, uttered the following words, “Just like the deceased leader Heydar Aliyev stated: We are of two states but one nation. Our brotherhood and fellowship are to continue forever. Our cooperation and solidarity are going to last all the time. If the head of Azerbaijan aches, we become sick. I believe that if our head aches, then our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters become sick, too. We are always going to demonstrate with our duas and supports that we are on the side of Azerbaijan both materially and spiritually.”
