President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş has given a khutbah titled “Islam: Religion of Peace and Well-being” and led Friday Prayer (Ṣalāt al-Jumuʿah) at the Tokyo Mosque in Japan
“Praise and glory be to Almighty Allah (swt) who created us out of nothing, informed us about His existence, honoured us with Islam that is the religion of peace and well-being and made us meet at the Tokyo Mosque in the spiritual climate of Friday.
May salat and salaam be upon all the blessed messengers of Allah (swt) from Prophet Adam to Prophet Abraham, from Prophet Moses to Prophet Jesus and upon our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) who has been sent as a mercy to the worlds. May Allah`s (swt) salaam, mercy, blessing, compassion and guidance be upon us. Jumuah Mubarak.
Dear Believers!
Allah the Almighty (swt) orders in his verse in Noble Quran that “O believers! Enter into Islam wholeheartedly and do not follow Satan’s footsteps. Surely he is your sworn enemy”
The Messenger of Allah (saw) orders in one of his hadiths that “Almighty Allah (swt) behaves with mercy to the ones who have mercy. Then you should show mercy to the ones on earth so that the Allah (swt) treats you with mercy.”
My Brothers and Sisters!
Our serene religion Islam is a religion of justice and mercy, compassion and clemency. Islam is a religion of well-being and welfare, tranquility and security. It is a religion of science and wisdom, knowledge and civilization. As the Noble Qur'an states, Islam is the righteous path that takes people out of darkness to the light and shows them the ways of goodness. Islam is a blessed invitation to salvation in this world and in the Hereafter. Islam is the religion of life that offers the tranquility that every soul seeks and the happiness that every heart desires.
Dear Muslims!
One of the beautiful names of Allah (swt) is “as-Salaam”. A Muslim is a representative of the name of “Salaam” of Allah (swt) in the world. Because the muslim is a messenger of goodness who always stands by peace, gives trust to his surrounding, and contributes to the tranquillity of the earth. As our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) orders “A believer is the person who is trusted by the people for their life and properties. Muslim is the one who does not cause damage to people by his hands and words.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters!
According to our holy religion Islam, life, mind, belief, properties and generation of all the human from all the race, colour, faith and geography are untouchable.
Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) states in his Farewell Sermon in which he declares the universal principles of Islam to the earth states that “O People, know that your Lord Allah is one and only and your ancestor is one. All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except for piety and good action.”
Dear Muslims!
Piety is good morals and consciousness of responsibility. It is the sincere loyalty to the orders of Allah (swt).
Our religion orders us to develop relationships with all the individuals of our society on the basis of goodness and justice. It advises us to live in peace and well-being.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Islam is the name of the religion that guides all societies through all the Prophets so that Islam will prevail on earth. Islam is the greatest blessing that will ensure the peace and tranquility of humanity. The final verse that was revealed to our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw) announces this truth to all humanity; “Today I have perfected your faith for you, completed My favour upon you, and chosen Islam as your way."
Dear Brothers and Sisters!
Today, as Muslims, our duty is to work towards peace and goodness by our best efforts. The warning of Allah (swt) “Cooperate with one another in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression.” should not be forgotten. Contributing to security and peace wherever we are is one of our most important duties. It is to struggle against the evils that will harm the physical and mental health of a human.
What we have to do is to obey the orders of Islam and to follow its advice properly. It is to transfer the serene values and beauties of Islam to our lives, thus representing Islam in the best way possible. Let's not forget that even one person to meet Islam because of our good words and actions is better than the world and all the properties.
As I finish my khutbah, I pray to Almighty Allah (swt) to make our duties easier and to lead us to success. On this occasion, May Allah (swt) bless our martyrs, veterans and all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their homeland, who passed away as a result of a tragic accident of Ertugrul Frigate, the 132th anniversary of which we realize today. May their souls rest in peace."
