Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, said, “We have seen the extent of the Armenian atrocities. We have seen that they committed great cruelty, even to the extent of shooting the mihrab of a mosque. Nothing was left of the houses, they even plundered their stones.”
Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, continued to have contacts in Azerbaijan also on the third day of his visit. President Erbaş visited Turkiye Diyanet Foundation Baku Turkish High School that is located in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.
Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, answered the questions from press members about his three-day visit to Azerbaijan while leaving Turkiye Diyanet Foundation Baku Turkish High School.
“They shot the mihrab of the mosque”
Expressing that he visited Shusha city and Agdam town and saw that Armenians even attacked mosques during their occupation of the region, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, said, “We have visited the mosques in Shusha city. We have visited the mosques and the places where our martyrs and soldiers fought to liberate Shusha and Karabakh. We recited the Holy Qur’an and made dua for them. We made duas for the society and the president of Azerbaijan and for Turkey. Yesterday we visited Agdam town and saw the extent of the Armenian atrocities. We saw that they committed great cruelty, even to the extent of shooting the mihrab of a mosque. Nothing was left of the houses, they even plundered their stones.”
“We are ready to build a mosque at Agdam town”
Stating that they are ready to give as much support as they can to Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, said, “The city of Agdam is going to be re-established. Because all the buildings were destroyed. A great town vanished. Of course, some of the most important elements in the establishment of this city were mosques and masjids. InshaAllah, those regions should meet with the sounds of the adhan. We are ready to do whatever we are expected to do. We, the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the state of the Republic of Turkey, are going to make preparations for the repair of mosques and even for the construction of a new mosque. InshaAllah, our intention to do it is going to yield results with the help of the Almighty Allah (swt), and those towns are going to meet again with the sounds of the adhans.”
“The students who are graduated from Baku Turkish High School contribute to Azerbaijan”
Expressing that the graduates of Turkiye Diyanet Foundation Baku Turkish High School have completed their higher education at important universities for 20 years, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, added the following, “They serve and contribute to Azerbaijan. They contribute to the spiritual and material development of Azerbaijan. We, the Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, want our high school to have much more achievements in the future. InshaAllah, we strive to find out what we can do to educate more qualified students. InshaAllah, the brotherhood and fellowship between Turkey and Azerbaijan are going to continue all the time in the field of education, as in various other fields.”
