After the opening ceremony held for Ghana Millet Mosque and its Complex that have been constructed in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, made statements to the journalist of Anadolu Agency and said, “Insha’Allah, this beautiful mosque that has been constructed in Accra is going to be the face and heart of Accra.”
Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, made statements to a journalist of Anadolu Agency after the opening ceremony held for Ghana Millet Mosque and its Complex that have been constructed by Turkey in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, a West African country.
Expressing his happiness for the construction of such a mosque in Ghana, Erbaş, President of Religious Affairs, stated, "Mosques are the heart and face of cities. Insha’Allah, this beautiful mosque that has been constructed in Accra is going to be the face and heart of Accra. And it is going to be a place where believers gather, establish prayer together, receive religious education and benefit from the courses that are going to be provided at the mosque."
Pointing out the importance of the mosque for Ghana, President Erbaş added the following words, "The mosque is going to bring peace, unity and solidarity to Ghana. It is going to be the center of visits between Turkey and Ghana. I suppose that people will come from Turkey and several parts of the world to see this mosque. The mosque is going to be a means for their visits. And it also is going to be a means for an increase in visits between Turkey and Ghana."
"Thousands of students come from Africa to Turkey to receive religious education"
Mentioning Turkiye Diyanet Foundation’s (TDF) activities in Africa, primarily in Ghana, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, gave the information that many mosques have been constructed and charity activities were carried out in the month of Ramadan within this scope.
Emphasizing that TDF has been supporting the students coming from Ghana to Turkey for long years, Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, the President of Religious Affairs, stated, "Thousands of students come from Africa and from many countries to Turkey and receive religious education at faculties of theology and imam-khatib high schools and other faculties of universities."
Drawing attention to the importance of transferring correct religious information to the young people and the students, President Erbaş expressed the followings:
"For the time being, Turkey is the country that ensures this in the best way. There are around 4 thousand imam-khatib schools and almost 110 faculties of theology in Turkey. We do contribute to the transfer of correct religious information to people by means of our faculties of theology and imam-khatib high schools. Insha’Allah, we are going to increase our works and activities for this purpose."
